Homework - Ms. Ahlhorn's Fourth Grade Explorers!
Transitioning between third and fourth grade is a big step from the lower elementary level to upper elementary. Students are expected to continue digging deeply into the complexities of math, reading, and writing; to expand their thinking skills; and to work more independently on advanced, structured material. In writing, fourth graders will work on strengthening support and organization.
This does not mean that a GRADE will be assigned to all homework assignments. I strongly believe in the value positive support plays in motivating children to develop good study habits. Parent's homework responsibilities: Parents are the key to making homework a positive experience for their children. Therefore, I appeal to parents to make homework a top priority, provide necessary supplies.
Here you will find links to the Eureka Math Problem Sets that students worked at school, the Homework that follows that Lesson, and videos of the homework being explained. A few items in the Homework Videos may vary slightly due to the fact that our students are using recently updated materials. The concepts are the same.

The homework that is given is meant to be done independently. We need to see what your child is doing, which is why we assign homework with a purpose. If homework takes more than 40 minutes, please stop and write a note or an email. Nothing that is given should take longer than that.
What we are doing this week! This week we will focus on summarizing the text we read. We will also focus on recognizing unknown words and refresh our dictionary skills with fun and exciting group activities along with a review of root vocabulary words.
